In my natural habitat
Photographic work deals with places of memories from different stages of life, especially from adolescence. It is also based on change of the home area after moving out, closely related to the current situation and events from isolation too. It's about the grief of home that it's defined and a fragment from it completes the whole concept. The choice for the object fell due to its variable properties - it is found in the photos of places in various forms as a drapery, which expresses a given phase of the relationship to home. The process of remembering and returning to something is important here. It deals with the essence and origin of the self, which is associated with the photographic process - the process of analog photography, which is used to create the final cycle.
Installation consists of several parts: the first contains photographs showing the already mentioned drapery in the important places. Next one is about photographs that are supposed to resemble the atmosphere of dreams, because the experiences of our deep memories of adolescence and childhood play a big role in them - it should be a common denominator of the author and the viewer of the work. Everybody of us have some special places that are important to us and it come to us when we are dreaming in night. The last photo is a still life, which is hidden under a drapery used in important places, as something personal and secret, which I don't want to say or show. The background photo is a map of the area. That is related to the whole work and the places where I was photographing.
Everything is complemented by the geocaching part. It is out of the installation, but it still applies to photography. For me, photography is a research, or a searching, even a journey and finally a treasure - there are certain similar things with geocaching. As a result, caches are created in places from photos that contain various personal items from my photographic journey. The bachelor thesis is about the awareness, definition and evaluation of a certain stage of life.
